The Benefits of Lemon Water!

Lemon water has a great reputation of being an excellent drink to have first thing in the morning, but do you actually know why? It doesn’t just make a pretty picture, it actually has SO many amazing benefits for your body! Keep reading to find out.

Alkalises the Body
Research suggests that our bodies may work better and fight disease more efficiently when we consume an alkaline (non-acidic) diet.

Although lemons are naturally acidic, did you know that they can actually help to reduce acid in our bodies? Strange hey!

Aids Digestion
Lemon water can also help prepare your body prepare for breakfast! This is because lemon juice can increase enzyme production, which help your body to breakdown food.

Boosts Immunity
Lemons are full of Vitamin C, which helps to keep your immune system strong and help you recover from colds and flus faster!

As I said above, lemons are loaded with Vitamin C. This supervitamin also plays an important role in keeping your skin looking young and vibrant.

How To Make Your Own Lemon Water:

  1. Fill a large mug with warm (but not boiling) water. If you choose to boil the water, set it aside for 2-5 minutes to allow it to cool slightly.
  2. Add the juice of ½ a lemon and stir to combine. Avoid using bottled lemon juice as this often contains preservatives.
  3. Add some fresh lemon slices for extra lemon flavour.
  4. Sip slowly and enjoy!
