Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide Review and Results

This is the lovely @land_of_lucy who sent me this email:

"Before starting the Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide I had already lost 11kgs through healthy eating and going to the gym 4 times per week, but there was no structure to my workouts and no matter what I did I couldn't seem to get under 60kgs. I had plateaued and I got stuck in a rut a little. I originally started your guides before Christmas last year and got up to week 4, then the holidays hit and I had a week or two of little exercise and lots of excess.
I decided to seriously try the Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide from 5th January after seeing so many girls joining #TheKaylaMovement on Instagram. Doing this along with the other girls and using #TheKaylaMovement really kept me motivated and I found the other girls so supportive and lovely.  
Since starting the Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide, I have become so motivated! I haven't skipped a workout since starting, previously I would sleep in some mornings thinking I would make up my workouts during the week, but knowing the other girls were on the same day as me in the guide really pushed me to get out of bed and get my workouts done. I have so much more energy and drive, I no longer feel bloated and sluggish and I feel fitter with every workout that I complete. I also wore jeans for the first time in 2 years and actually felt good about it - it was a real non scale victory for me.

Before the guide I was 60kgs, at the end of the 12 weeks I weigh in at 57.1kgs. It hasn't been about the scale for me - I made a promise to myself not to weigh myself in the 12 weeks and I'm glad I didn't - as progress photos show so much more than the scale ever could. This is the lovely Carolyn who sent me this email:

"Hope you are well :) I bet you must be getting tons of these by the minute these days! But I still wanted to share my transformation with you because for me, me jaw is still on the floor in awe of how much I've changed for the better.
I can't say I've ever been fat but I think I have a small frame, so even the slighest bit of weight tends to make me look more like the Michelin man (That's exagerated, I know ;)). I've always been a bit active and enjoyed different sports in school, and went to the gym in my uni years, which kept me more or less in check. Like so many other girls, before starting your guide, my weight loss technique was eat a ridiculously small anount of food and run like Forest Gump. Of course, it never got me anywhere, just very tired and frustrated and then I'd give up, put on the 0.001 kg I lost and then start again two weeks later. My problem is that I have a proper sweet tooth! I'm one of those people that can have a 24 hour love affair with a spoon and a whole nutella jar! But that's much better now too :)

I'm a medical student now, and always thought I wouldn't have time to do all the workouts. But I wanted to, so I did. No excuses this time! But along with thanking you for your guides, I mostly want to thank you for teaching me and helping me develop some very important character traits. Above all, the Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide has taught me patience. We live in a world today where we are so used to getting everything immediately, and when we don't, we get discouraged so quickly. All these fad diets that promise big and fast weight loss in a small amount of time had me thinking all this time that weight should should melt off like an ice cream in the sun. I realise now that it actually takes a lot of work, sweat and a lot of consitency and patience to start changing your appearance a even just a bit! I used to get so impatient! "Omg I haven't lost any weight in the last week! Im doomed to look like Jaba the Hut for ever!" Its still something I struggle with, but I know now that it's a process and that it will happen if I keep going and be patient and consistent. Secondly, you taught me discipline, and that is something I can apply in so many other areas of my life! To work out even when I don't feel like it! Exercise isn't just something you do for leisure. Sure, its better if you enjoy it, but mostly its something you do for yourself, for your body. Being fit is like driving your own Rolls Royce body, everything feels smoother and well oiled, you feel more power under your foot; compared to driving a crappy old golf, that needs to build up a 2km momentum to get up that little hill, and let's hope the door doesn't fall off on the way up or that it breaks down! I came to a realisation that quitting makes absolutly no sense. Nobody can change me, or do the work for me. Only I can do it. So thank you for making me a better, stronger person, more determined person, that believes she can achieve challenging things! ;) Wishing you all the best and continued success in changing so many girls!"

Hahahah you have a way with words Carolyn, this email made me laugh! But even more importantly it made me SOOO proud to read how you feel about your body and your new found determination, I am so happy for you, you look amazing! xx
