Easy Ways To Get Out of Your Fitness Rut

easy way to get out of your fitness rut

We have all fallen off the health and fitness bandwagon before - whether you’ve just come back from a holiday, it’s a busy period in your life or you’ve simply lost motivation. It can happen to anyone! The trouble with being stuck in a fitness rut, is that it can be really hard to get back out of it. Here are some of my top tips on how to get out of your fitness rut:

Buy Yourself Some New Workout Clothes

When you are in a rut, sometimes you just need something to motivate you or excite you a little. A great way to look forward to getting back into the gym is buying some new clothes or workout accessories! After all, who wants to spend money on a new crop just to have it sit in their closet. If you can’t afford a whole new outfit, even something as simple as a new pair of headphones or drink bottle can still motivate you!

Write Down Your Goals

If you have fallen off the exercise bandwagon and are finding it hard to get started again, write down some weekly goals. This can literally be as simple as exercising 3 times that week. To make yourself even more accountable, it can be handy to set alarms on your phone to remind you! Having some goals can make it easier for you to commit, rather than having a vague mindset of “I’ll get back to it eventually”.

Start With Things That You Like

If you haven’t exercised in a while, jumping straight into an intense session that you know will leave you feeling sore and overwhelmed may not be the best option. Instead, start slow and start with things you like. Get motivated by doing what you love, and eventually you can get back into a routine.

Plan Your Weekly Meals

If healthy eating is where you have slipped up lately, the easiest way to get back into this can be planning out your weekly meals. Most of us tend to make bad food choices when we are super hungry or haven’t prepared any food. Try writing down a meal plan and have healthy snacks (such as yoghurt, fruit and nuts) available at all times so you aren’t caught out. Once again, start small by planning just a few days at a time so that you don’t overwhelm yourself. If you are looking for healthy recipes check out my recipe page here.

Hope these have helped, girls! Remember the best thing to do is just to DO IT!
