Who doesn’t love a good mug cake? This is the perfect treat to whip up during winter! It certainly helps warm the soul and the best bit is that it takes under 5 minutes to make. Try it today!
1 large egg
3 tbsp raw cacao powder
1 tbsp pure maple syrup
¼ tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp almond meal
2 tbsp low-fat milk
2 tbsp unsweetened apple sauce
Flaked almonds, to garnish
- Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl and whisk well using a fork.
- Pour into a large microwave safe mug and place into a high powered microwave for 2 minutes.
- Check your mug cake and if still not cooked, cook in 30 second increments until it springs back lightly when touched.
- Top with flaked almonds and serve!
