This is the wonderful @kimsresa who sent me this email:

"I’ve been working out for years but unfortunately I’ve done it for the wrong reasons and the wrong way. I’ve hated my body since I was 14 and there and then I started developing my eating disorder. My relationship to food was filled with anxiety and was built on rules about what I was not allowed to eat. I worked out to punish myself and because of the hate I felt. And at the beginning of last year I started receiving treatment for EDNOS, by that time I was 23. Given the stress I had put my body through before that point I got training prohibition until I was stable again. My food intake doubled and I, naturally, gained weight. This was very hard for me to deal with and when I finished my treatment I honestly still didn’t feel comfortable in my own body. But I didn’t want to go back to my unhealthy habits and felt like I needed to find something new to focus on - and that’s when I decided to give BBG a shot. And sure, I still wanted a good looking body but my main focus was to get stronger. To never feel as weak as I did in the beginning of my treatment. And today, after my first week of BBG 1.0 round 2, I feel stronger, happier, more confident and more balanced than I’ve ever felt before. I simply loved your guide to much to not include it in my workout schedule. I’m hooked!

And when it comes to the nutrition guide - given the fact that I just got out of treatment when I started, where I had to eat according to 'their rules' (after years with my own) I decided that is was better for me not to strictly follow a new ”food schedule”. I needed some time to build up my own healthy relationship to food. But I did buy it, and I did read it, and I did use it (and still do) as my inspiration :)"

I am SO proud of you @kimsresa, you look amazing!! Look at those guns :P I am so glad you are feeling happier and healthier you should be very proud of yourself.

"I first off wanted to say thank you so much for being such an inspiration to me. I am so lucky that I stumbled across your Instagram page; it completely changed my life for the better. I love everything that you do and stand for. Your dedication, discipline and genuine care for your clients is quite remarkable. You truly are such an amazing person inside and out. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

As I am writing this to you it is currently -30 degrees Celsius, and Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning. In the last 6 hours we have got 14 cm of snow and are supposed to get 6-10cm more along with blowing snow in the next few hours. Yay. :P I really do hate winter and just want to hibernate most of the time. Earlier this winter it got down to -46, it literally is debilitating when it is that cold!!! Yuck. But other than the cold winters Canada is beautiful. However it really is hard to stay motivated in winters up here. I know from experience and even just watching my friends; we all just want to have hot chocolate and sit by the fire. Most days it is too cold to go and take the dogs for a walk (I have 3, 2 Golden Retrievers and 1 Malamute/Husky/Wolf they are the greatest), because if you are out for more than a few minutes you will get frost bite. So I appreciate your motivation through your social media outlets, blogs and emails. I am working hard on becoming more disciplined and truly changing my lifestyle for the better. Here is my story…

I am 17 years old and live in rural Southern Alberta Canada. I have a rare genetic disease called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), which affects all of the connective tissue in my body. Because of this I get injured more frequently, have chronic fatigue, and ligament laxity to name a few. I have had 5 major reconstructive surgeries; Left ankle, right ankle, left knee, right knee, then again on my left ankle along with a nerve repair. These surgeries are big intense surgeries not just little scopes; there are bones being broken and ligaments and tendons being stretched and tightened. Dislocations, sprains and fractures are quite common with this disease and my lifestyle. There is no cure for EDS as it is faulty DNA; a mutation in my genes. And no real medication, therapy or anything like that to benefit it. The only thing that I have been told is to keep active and build muscle mass, as the muscles will help hold your joints in place, however to use caution while working out so that you don’t stress or injure your joints.

I was finally making progress after all my surgeries were done and started getting back into sports and developing muscle. In July 2012 I was parasailing off of a lake, I was about 20 ft up into the air when a gust of wind flew me into a tree. My thoughts were “I am going to die, this is it”. To make matters worse my mom was on the boat and had to watch the whole thing. I slammed into the tree and whiplashed around it. I hit my head multiple times on the way down and then fell into 2ft of water. The ropes of the parasail were all wrapped around me so I thought I was going to drown. I had suffered a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) and whiplash throughout my whole body. I rested for the whole summer and was able to go to school in the fall and get good grades. Things were looking up.

Then on Dec 2012 I was in school when a bully hit me in the back of the head, causing me to regress and be worse than ever before. This second hit I haven’t been able to bounce back from---yet. If you look at a concussion check list I had every symptom but the headaches are the worst. I’ve had multiple seizures caused by the brain injury and have just recently started to be able to do some school work. I was advised by my Doctor to start dancing near the end of 2013. And that opened many doors and has allowed me to start to get some physical strength back. I started out step by step and limited, but over time I healed. I continued to slowly heal and was cleared to workout and get my strength back.

I came across your Instagram in September 2014 and instantly thought it was incredible. It was something I believed in and that was inspired by it. Ironically there is not many programs out there that actually promote being truly healthy. So when I saw yours I knew that it would be the best decision for me and my health.

I have completed the first guide and started the second one and I am now a part of #thekaylamovement so I have restarted the first guide. I have noticed huge differences in my appearance, and body and feel so much healthier than before. Some days are still rough and I still have constant headaches and will always have to deal with EDS but I have had way less sprains since I have started your guides and nutrition plan, along with more energy. But most of all I have some confidence back. My confidence was low after being so sick and on bed rest, and to finally see some improvement and to look better has been so amazing. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, after these near death experiences. That changes you, and it’s something that makes you realize how important health is. Thank you Kayla for being such a good role model and for me and creating something that truly is helping people."
