Hard Work And BBG Lead To Positive Progress!
A question I’m often asked about fitness routines relates to seeing progress.
Sometimes you may feel as though you aren’t making progress quickly enough or maybe you’re tempted to use the scales to measure progress.
I understand that you want to feel as though your hard work is paying off and seeing numbers change can be a quick way to reassure yourself. This can be so much pressure to put on yourself though— especially if you don’t see the numbers on the scale moving.
I have always found progress photos to be a much better way of tracking changes during your fitness journey. The BBG transformation story I am sharing today is a great example why! Read Stephanie’s story below and if you want to see more progress photos from BBG girls, check out my Instagram!
Stephanie’s BBG story
In her email, Stephanie admits that she never would have thought she’d be able to complete BBG 1.0. Stephanie felt that she was in a bad place before starting BBG — she suffered a severe injury and then was involved in a car accident that forced her to stop doing things that she loved, including working out.
“I had always been rather active and not being able to exercise took a toll on me physically and mentally. I slowly gained weight, became depressed and lost all confidence in myself. It got to the point where I didn’t recognise myself. Once your lifestyle and mindset are altered, it is unbelievably hard to pull yourself out of the negativity and make the change.”
Stephanie found my BBG program unintentionally and after looking through some of the workouts, she wasn’t sure that she would be able to stay motivated. She decided to try the program and got to work — it wasn’t long before Stephanie began to feel her mindset shift.
“Maybe it is because I was able to exercise in the privacy of my own home or the combination of resistance and cardio-rich moves. Maybe it was the unbelievably supportive community, whatever it was, BBG has changed my life and helped me find my true self again.”
Stephanie explains that she followed the resistance sessions, completed the challenges and did the recommended HIIT and LISS cardio workouts as part of her training. Stephanie also used some of the recipes in the meal plan for inspiration and tried to eat as healthily as possible.
Changing her workout routine also helped Stephanie to develop a better relationship with food. She focuses on enjoying nutritious foods but also stopped worrying about calories, especially if she wanted to indulge in a ‘cheat meal’.
BBG has helped Stephanie to find a whole new level of self-confidence and she is so happy that she made the decision to try it!
“I have now personally experienced what the human body and mind are capable of and how quickly they can adapt. I am STRONGER, not just physically but also mentally. My whole lifestyle has changed and my daily exercise fix is now a healthy habit, not because of the benefit to my appearance but due to the way it makes me feel mentally.”
As Stephanie continues on her fitness journey, she is happy to be doing so with a new perspective — not just on exercise but on her life!
“I have never been more content and confident in myself than I am right now and I cannot be thankful enough for having gained such a healthy perspective! I would never have been able to change my mindset without the help of Kayla, the BBG program and the amazing SWEAT community.”
For Stephanie, finding a program that helped her to feel stronger and gave her confidence a boost was the key to making lifestyle changes stick. Once she completed BBG 1.0, Stephanie didn’t hesitate to start the next 12 weeks — and she continued to be pleasantly surprised by the effects of regular exercise.
“I know it hasn’t been long but I just thought I’d send through another progress picture because I just can’t believe how much my body continues to change. The scale hasn’t budged, in fact, I’ve put on half a kilo [approx 1 pound]. But I lost further cms around my waist, hips and legs.”
Stephanie has shared such an important point — while the scale may not have moved during four weeks of workouts, the progress pictures tell a far different story. Even more importantly, Stephanie feels happy, healthy and confident!
“I would recommend this program to absolutely anyone, especially to those who are in a dark place and need the extra support to make the change.”
That’s how Stephanie made positive progress!
Wow, Stephanie! Your story blows me away and I am so incredibly proud of you. An injury setback can be hard to deal with but you took charge and look at where you are now! Congratulations!
