Embracing Fitness And Loving Life!
Whenever I receive an email from one of my BBG girls, I love to read how much they enjoy working out! Even for those girls who have always been active, it can be extra motivating when you begin to look forward to every single training session.
These two amazing ladies are loving life again, all because they took charge of their health and fitness!
Emma’s BBG journey
In her email, Emma explains that she always thought she was reasonably healthy. She felt that her weight came from muscle development due to years of hockey. “I was always a size 14 in trousers and I would never choose to have my arms out in any outfit because they looked so flabby to me. I always wore loose tops because I hated the idea that someone could see my belly move.”
Emma enjoyed group fitness classes at the gym but doing them consistently was a problem for her. If a busy day at work meant she couldn’t get to a class, she simply wouldn’t work out.
In August 2017, Emma’s boyfriend proposed! “I knew I wanted to be in the best shape possible (and that I didn’t want a long engagement) so I took the advice of my friend and got on the BBG wagon.” Emma also found a workout buddy to join her during her fitness journey — her best friend. They committed to do BBG together and began regularly going to the gym.
Six months later, Emma noticed some big changes! “I bought my first pair of size 10 trousers (jeans at that!). There are clothes in my wardrobe I bought without trying on a year ago to realise I wouldn’t fit in them and thought I never would but didn’t throw them out. I feel pride when I put them on now because I worked hard to get here.”
Congratulations Emma! You should be so proud of your hard work — I’m sure your wedding is going to be beautiful.
Madison’s BBG journey
Growing up, Madison was very active. She played lots of sport and felt fit and healthy, so she didn’t realise how much exercise she was actually getting.
Things changed when Madison finished school and her lifestyle changed. “After high school, I went off to college and I gained the ‘freshman 15’ — and then some — which led to the picture in 2014 on the left.” Madison began to feel uncomfortable in her own skin, which began to impact her social life.
“I saw the picture on the left and knew then that I had to make a change. I wasn’t happy or comfortable in my own skin. Feeling that way inhibited me from going out with friends and family. I was embarrassed.” Madison knew that her health was her responsibility so she decided to take charge. She began following my BBG program and soon noticed positive changes.
For Madison, BBG has been about so much more than weight loss. “I’ve seen changes in every way possible; confidence, self-love, clothes, endurance, shape and size. I’ve gone from a size 12 in pants to a size 4. However, the change in my body has only been half of my transformation. I’ve learned to love myself.” Madison explains that while she still has insecurities, she has learned that she is enough, flaws and all. Committing to her fitness routine helped her to become mentally stronger as well.
That’s such a positive change, Madison! I’m so proud to hear you are embracing everything about you and loving life again!
