Today I have some amazing transformation stories to share with you. Both of these ladies started BBG while studying, and found it helped them with so many areas of their lives!

Akanksha came to the US to begin graduate studies in August 2014. Moving away from friends and family was hard, especially with a demanding work, study and exam schedule. 

During this time, Akanksha gained more than 19 kgs. Feeling self-conscious about her weight, Akanksha admits she spent the next year eating salads for a few days, then binging on donuts and sugary treats when she was bored or unfulfilled by salads. 

While Akanksha tried a couple of diet plans, she didn’t stick to them. “I would give myself an excuse that I am a student who does not have time to prepare food and exercise every time I ate outside.”

Hiding her weight behind baggy clothes and avoiding the mirror and photos with friends became something Akanksha did far too often. She knew that she needed a change. Then she found BBG through Instagram and knew she wanted to give it a try. 

In January 2017, Akanksha started BBG and she hasn’t looked back! As well as becoming physically fitter and stronger, Akanksha has come to love her body and to feel appreciation for all that it can do. “I would not lie to you, but when I started the guides, all I wanted was abs! But now I feel so much better from within, that these things hardly matter. If you go by number, I have gone from a US size 8 to a size 2. I could not run for even a km without feeling like I was dying when I started, and now I literally run for 12 kms at a time and love it!”

BBG transformations

Phoebe — phoebegarrett_

Moving away from home to begin uni sparked a transition period in Phoebe’s life. While she had used gyms before, Phoebe felt uncomfortable and unsure in them, not really knowing how to use much of the equipment. This lead to her not working out. 

A busy uni schedule and a reliance on cheap and unhealthy meals saw Phoebe gain weight. She began to feel tired all the time and felt that she wasn’t learning to the best of her potential when she was in class. Phoebe decided she needed a change in order to feel better. “I wanted to lose weight, feel healthier and improve my grades!” 

Phoebe knew a few girls who had used BBG, so that helped convince her to give it a try. She began using my BBG and HELP nutrition guides to learn how to prepare healthy meals and for her workouts. “My uni has a small gym with only a little bit of equipment. I’ve never seen more than four people in this gym at a time, so I felt I could ease into becoming fitter slowly.” 

Now, nine months later, Phoebe is still following the program. She has learned how to make healthy food choices, as well as feeling fitter and stronger. Not only that, but Phoebe has used BBG to reduce stress and to help her at uni — even doing a workout before her exams to help focus!

The growth of Phoebe’s confidence and love for exercise has been huge! “I now attend a bigger gym and feel a LOT more confident because SWEAT will instruct me on how to use the equipment. In my 8th week of BBG I fractured my ankle (my fault) and was in a moonboot for 6 weeks. I modified BBG workouts as per the guidelines of a physiotherapist but never stopped doing it!” She admits that this would never have happened 9 months ago!

I have lost close to 10kg since beginning BBG and have dropped 2 dress sizes. I have also gained muscle, which I am so happy about!” Phoebe is also excited to keep progressing and to keep pushing her body — her next goal is BBG Stronger!
