Overcoming Health Setbacks With BBG
The transformations I am sharing with you today are a great reminder that a strong mindset can help you battle your struggles and achieve things you might not have thought possible.
It can be easy to forget that moving your body and exercise is a privilege, not a chore — something that many of us can sometimes take for granted!
These BBG transformation stories involve two women who refused to let illness and injury hold them back from achieving their goals.

Ashleigh’s BBG journey — @Choose2Fly
Ashleigh’s story is such an inspiration because of how hard she has worked due to her health issues.
In her email, Ashleigh explains that she has been managing chronic illness and autoimmune disease her whole life.
Before beginning BBG, Ashleigh had always worked hard to keep on top of her health, striving to be better than the day before. She ate whole plant-based foods but would sometimes find herself emotionally eating, which led to weight gain and feeling unhappy.
For Ashleigh, starting the BBG program meant more to her than just getting fit.
“My poor health has always held me back. I've grown up with people telling me, 'You can't do that, you're not like other people'. So I was determined to prove everyone wrong and prove to them that I was capable of the amazing things I see everyone else doing. In 2015 I nearly lost my life and was given two weeks to live. I didn't want to be another statistic, I wanted to be inspiring and I wanted to live, so that is what I did.”
Despite having to stop and start the program during her journey because of illness, Ashleigh kept going and has now made BBG workouts part of her daily life.
“It's taken a long time and a great deal of work to get here but I am so happy to say that I am now including BBG workouts in my daily life and I am still going strong. I may not go as hard or fast as others but just having the ability to complete them means the absolute world to me.”
Because of her determination and strong will, Ashleigh has felt incredible results.
“I have lost about 13kg (28lbs) since starting and my dress size has shrunk massively...Most of all, my mindset has changed so much for the better. My self-confidence has soared and I am now taking up yoga too, something I always felt too self-conscious to do.”

Mercedesz’s BBG journey — @mercedesz.brcs
Mercedesz always did a lot of sport but after suffering with a back injury, she had to stop for six years.
While Mercedesz tried to get back on track for about three years, she found it difficult to commit to a regular workout schedule.
“It was always up-and-down, I didn‘t find my motivation...I worked out for one week, then I had a break, and then I had to start from the beginning again.”
During this time, Mercedesz explains that she often felt tired, unmotivated and impatient about seeing results. Eventually, she got to a point where she felt fed up.
“I gained weight and I was unhappy in my body. That was the point where I wanted to change my lifestyle and I found the Bikini Body Guide...it was the first program that I did from the beginning until the end.”
Mercedesz could not believe the change that she felt within herself after doing only four weeks of BBG, while also following the HELP Nutrition Guide.
“The first couple of weeks were quite challenging but I got stronger and it became fun once I started seeing changes…”
Committing to regular workouts through BBG not only helped Mercedesz change her mindset but it also gave her positive physical results that encouraged her to keep going.
“The results speak for themselves...BBG helped tone my entire body. Before BBG my clothing size was a good 38 and now I buy myself jeans with size 36!”
“I feel healthier, I feel in shape, and it gave me a lot more confidence. Hard work really does pay off.”
