Taking care of yourself involves many things. These two ladies decided that they needed to make themselves a priority in order to feel better. Read their stories if you feel like it’s time to make some changes in your life.

Sophie — @sugarfreesimko

Sophie admits that before she started my BBG program, she was unhealthy — eating lots of junk food and drinking alcohol regularly. 

With a demanding job, Sophie felt she was stuck in a “boom and bust cycle. I had constant IBS. I was not unfit, as I had completed the London Marathon 6 months previously to the before picture, but my lifestyle was toxic to my body.” 

Sophie was feeling tired and depressed, and was often dealing with mood swings and low energy. With her wedding coming up, Sophie decided it was a great time to make some lifestyle changes. She stopped drinking alcohol and stopped eating refined sugars, reduced the amount of unhealthy carbs she was eating and started following the BBG!

After seeing some of the BBG transformations on Facebook, Sophie knew it was for her! She had been looking for a workout program that was fun, that fit with her lifestyle changes and helped her to reach her fitness goals. 

Since starting BBG, Sophie has found she has so much more energy. “None of my old work trousers fit anymore, I can get back into my skinny jeans that I used to be able to wear! I don’t feel self-conscious in clingy clothes or a bikini anymore.”

One of the other major changes that Sophie has noticed is in her skin! While previously she felt bloated and uncomfortable, Sophie says the colour and tone of her skin is completely different. 

All I can say about Sophie’s transformation is WOW! She radiates happiness and health now, it is amazing. This is such an important reminder to care for yourself inside and out xx

Martina — @martina_elle

Martina has always been an active person, walking and going to spinning classes regularly. She explains she tried to eat well most of the time too. 

During 2011, Martina hit a wall. “I lost the most important person in my life, my mom.” 

In 2013, Martina moved to Florence for work. Still dealing with her grief, Martina started to feel unhappy and turned to the many sweet treats on offer in her new city to try and feel better. Martina also has hyperthyroidism and was struggling to recognise herself in the mirror. 

Martina stumbled onto my Instagram account in 2016 and was drawn to the passion of the BBG Community. That convinced her to start over, to be active and to embrace her energetic side. During her BBG journey, Martina discovered a love for fitness, as well as a love for herself. 

I’m so incredibly inspired by Martina’s courage! She has shown such strength to pick herself up after such a significant loss and her positive attitude has definitely led to her success!
