I never was unhappy in my skin but also didn't feel comfortable in a bikini. After I graduated school, I went travelling in Australia and New Zealand and didn't really think about what I put into my body, it just had to be fast and cheap because as a backpacker you are always broke.
After my travels, I moved to London. It was very tough to start with and lack of energy didn't help with that, so I decided it was time to change my lifestyle. I signed up for a gym membership and wanted to change my eating habits. Easier said than done.
A friend of mine recommend the BBG guide to me, so a week later I purchased it and felt very motivated. But that didn't last for long, I restarted 3 times, did lots of research about nutrition online and slowly started to see some progress.
From then on I committed to it fully and never want to look back. I love the fact that the workouts only take 28 mins and the before/after photos really helped to keep me motivated.
I met so many amazing like-minded girls through meet ups and the BBG community on Instagram which I'm very grateful for.
Thank you so much Kayla for all your hard work you put into this community and changing my life for better.

Lisa, I’m so glad you committed to the BBG! All that hard work has paid off and you’ve made incredible friends along the way. SO proud xx

Before starting the BBG, I was working out a lot by running, dancing, swimming, and biking. I even trained for and completed a triathlon. But running, biking, and swimming for 6 straight months didn't improve my muscle definition, toning, or my overall feeling of strength and I wasn't happy with that.
I have always been very motivated to workout and stay fit but hadn't found a program that I actually liked, that would keep me on track.
After sporadically doing a few of the BBG pre-training workouts, I finally decided that I had to see for myself what kind of progress I could make.
I decided to commit to the 12 weeks with my co-worker, as an accountability partner. I am definitely a bucket list-checking type of person and with all the hype around BBG, I felt like I had to do it just to say I did it; not realizing I would actually love it by the end.
After about a week in, my mom (age 54), who is very athletic and determined, just couldn't sit back and watch me do this alone. She had to see what it was all about.
We've been completing the resistance training each morning at 5:30 am together and fitting in runs on the off days to keep up our cardio. I think laughing at ourselves has definitely increased the ab progress so maybe that should be added to the workouts ;)
Transformation has been huge throughout this program. Not only can I see the progress, I can feel how much stronger I am when I run, swim, or bike. I couldn't even believe how my 4 week progress pictures looked compared to my before photos (I am totally a transformation photo believer now).
For one, I have dropped in clothing size from a 4 or 6 to a 2 or 4. I always figured I would be the same size forever, so that was a big deal. I wouldn't say I ever had low self confidence before, but I would pick on things about myself. Like "I wish my legs were different" or "I wish my stomach was flatter." I still have progress to make, but I know I have been pushing my body to the max and that is the best feeling.
There's no reason to wish things were different about my body when I am actively making those changes happen. I just feel so strong! As far as energy goes, before BBG, I had only ever woken up before work to workout twice.... the fact that I've woken up at 5:30 am, 3 times a week, for the past 12 weeks (and will continue to do so) speaks for itself.

Incredible results, Jo! I loved hearing how much more energy you have and that you do the BBG with your mum! Amazing — keep it up, ladies! :) xx
