My Top 5 Favourite Foods

A common question I get from my BBG girls is “What are your favourite foods?”. While I’m sure lots of you can guess a few of them, I decided to put a quick list together for you! I use all of these foods regularly, so they’re always in my kitchen. 

These are my top five favourite foods:

Mango

I don’t think this is a surprise for anyone! Of course mango is on the list! I love fresh, juicy mango as a snack on its own, or added to smoothies. A mango salsa is also perfect to top grilled fish or chicken. It always feels like summer when there’s lots of fresh, delicious-smelling mangoes in the shops!

Figs

When it comes to figs, I love them fresh! My Papou grows his own, and they are seriously the best! They can be eaten by themselves, used as a topping for smoothie bowls, toast or yoghurt, or you can have slices of fig with a little bit of cheese as a snack. YUM! 

Eggs

One of my favourite breakfasts is sourdough toast with scrambled eggs and chilli kale. I ate it almost every day for a full year, and I still eat it regularly! Eggs are great for getting some protein in the morning, and you can prepare eggs different ways, which is great if you like variety.

Chicken

I love to add some shredded grilled chicken to a wrap and make my own healthy yiros! Chicken goes with almost everything. Once it’s cooked, you can have it hot with grilled or roasted vegetables, or cold in a sandwich or salad. What could be better? 

Greek yoghurt

Yoghurt is one of those foods that I always have in my fridge. Add some fresh berries and you’ve got a great snack or a healthy dessert. Mix it with cucumber, dill, garlic and lemon juice for a simple tzatziki, use it for super soft pancakes or add it to your smoothies. Greek yoghurt also has all nine essential amino acids (the ones that your body has to get from food), so it’s a great choice to add a little more protein during the day.
